In the glass, this wine shows alluring aromas of white pear, elderflower and subtle hints of toasted vanilla and white flowers. The palate is fresh yet creamy with the ripe pear and citrus acidity following through. Well-integrated oak allows for a toasty and lingering finish

A full-bodied Chardonnay with bold flinty notes surrounded by peach undertones. The creamy palate has a wonderful balancing freshness and reveals layers of flint, lemon blossom and biscuity nuances complemented by subtle oak spice.
The grapes are sourced exclusively from mature vines within a single hectare vineyard block called the Reed Vineyard. This beautiful vineyard is situated on an old riverbed, where the shallow, loamy Renwick soils are derived from stony alluvium and offer the wine excellent drainage. The vines are a mixture of Burgundian Chardonnay clones; predominantly they are clone 95, with a proportion of Mendoza clones and some clone 15. The fruit from this block has become renowned for delivering crisp, flinty flavours.
The grapes were carefully selected and vinified with 100% wild yeasts. Some were vinified as whole bunches, to add complexity. Fermentation took place in a selection of new and seasoned French oak barriques, lasting 10 months where malolactic fermentation took place imparting a creamy texture.
Valencian winemaker Víctor Marqués has crafted a fabulous wine using organic, biodynamic and sustainable principles. It opens in the glass with intense aromas of tropical fruit with notes of vanilla and roasted flavours. Full-bodied on the palate, soft and silky texture, well-integrated acidity. Intense notes of pineapple and vanilla with a very long finish. This Chardonnay has a great character and an impressive length.
After whole bunch pressing the wine ages on its lees for five months in French oak which adds subtle vanilla and toasty notes to the intense tropical pineapple flavours and aromas.
Inviting aromas of white chocolate and toffee lead to notes of sweet vanilla fudge and sandalwood. Fresh and zesty on the palate, with pineapple sweetness and citrus zest enveloped by melt in the mouth viscosity and real depth of flavour through to a very long finish.
The Chardonnay grapes come from the estate vineyard in Stellenbosch. The vineyards benefit from being 14 kilometres from False Bay, where the strong maritime influence cools the vineyards in the hot, summer months, ensuring good levels of natural grape acidity in the final wine, central to the Mulderbosch style of fresh, balanced wines. The soil is made up of decomposed sandstone with some granitic conglomerate stones, known as ‘Koffieklip’. This iron-ferrite rich soil produces wines with more minerality and intensity.

Tangy lime and green apple crunch with a richer, deeper, biscuit and sourdough undertone. The zingy citrus and creamy lees flavours are well balanced with acidity and fruit in complete harmony. It is poised and elegant with a lingering aftertaste.

The fusion of time-honoured tradition, passion and contemporary techniques, enables San Marzano to produce wines with distinctive varietal and regional characteristics while reflecting the local terroir. The vineyard is located at approximately 100 metres above sea level and benefits from great diurnal temperature variation.
Fermentation took place in French oak barrels. Following this, the wine was matured on its fine lees in barriques for a period of four months, with weekly lees stirring which imparted texture and complexity.

The fruit comes from the estate ‘Grava’ vineyard, which is one of the most northerly plantings in Monterey County. It nestles up to the Gabilan Mountain Range on the eastern side of the Salinas Valley; approximately 10 miles directly across from the Santa Lucia Highlands. The marine influence of the nearby Monterey Bay and the morning fog which clears for the afternoon sun, results in a cool mesoclimate and a long hang-time for the fruit. The grapes reflect the cool climate character, with complex aromatics and flavours and natural balancing acidity. The vineyard is cultivated sustainably and are certified by the California Sustainable Wine Growing Alliance.

The Terroir Hunter (TH) range of wines from Undurraga, represent the diversity and quality to be found in Chile’s vineyard sites. Unique individual terroirs are given the limelight such as the vineyard that produces this Chardonnay, a high-quality vineyard in the far North of Chile in the Quebrada Seca of the Limarí Valley. This relatively new region for the production of high-quality wines has the perfect climate for slow ripening and preserving the fresh aromas of the grapes.
Gorgeous fresh aromas of camomile flowers, lemon, melon and pear, are complemented by touches of toasted hazelnut and coastal mineral notes. Smooth and creamy on the palate, delicate notes of oak spice are exquisitely balanced by fresh acidity through to an elegant finish.
I secretly think we all miss those big luscious, oaky Californian Chardonnays, the ones before they all got expensive and over-the-top.

As a vine nursery fieldman, Andrew Jones has spent many hours exploring vineyards, planning, planting, and chatting with farmers all over the Central Coast. He began spotting more and more interesting and overlooked vineyards – often rocky, wilder sites located closer to the Pacific, farmed mindfully by clients who have become friends over many years. This Chardonnay is sourced from Edna Valley.

The grapes for the Rocking Horse were sourced from a number of very carefully selected growers around the Western Cape. The Roussanne and the Chardonnay come from younger trellised vines, with an average age of 14 years planted in Stellenbosch and Paardeberg mountain on a combination of clay and decomposed granite. Semillon Blanc from Franschhoek, Clairette Blanche from Stellenbosch and Chenin Blanc from Paardeberg add depth and textural complexity to this Cape white blend as they are sourced from old, low-yielding bush vines estimated to be approximately 40 years old.
The Astrolabe Marlborough Chardonnay is made from grapes grown at Astrolabe Farm Vineyard in the lower Wairau Valley, Wrekin Vineyard in the Southern Valleys and Dashwood Corner in the Awatere Valley.

White WineThis fantastic taut, classic Petit Chablis is made by Florent Dauvissat, part of the famous Dauvissant Chablis family. While they are the newest of the Dauvissat Domaines, their vineyards now stretch over 10 hectares, with parcels in Petit Chablis, AC Chablis village and the 1er cru Beauroy.
In the glass, it has aromas of lemon blossom, green apple and striking oyster shell salinity. The palate is fine, and elegant, with a steely citrusy core. This is an ideal wine for that Sunday roast chicken.
