  • 2010 Estate Chardonnay, Paringa Estate Wine Republic Heros White Wine

    2010 Estate Chardonnay, Paringa Estate

    £5500

An exceptional Paringa Estate Chardonnay that has benefited from being aged in our cellars.  Aromas of butterscotch and fig and layered with ripe and rich citrus.  The palate is textured with the perfect line of acidity, stone fruit and citrus are intermingled with savoury nutty barrel-ferment flavours.

The Paringa Estate vineyard is an exceptional site. North facing, the 10 acres of un-irrigated rich, red, volcanic soil curl around the slope like an amphitheatre, sheltered from the harsh South and South Westerly winds. Whilst Pinot Noir has always been Paringa’s most awarded variety, the unique microclimate also produces exceptional Shiraz and Chardonnay.

  • 2014 Blanc de Blanc, Nyetimber Wine Republic Heros Champagne & Sparkling Wine, English & Welsh Sparkling Wine

    2014 Blanc de Blanc, Nyetimber

    £5500

This Blanc de Blancs is from the amazing 2014 vintage and shows the classic signature of delicate floral and citrus aromas followed by subtle vanilla and toast flavours, but now with a pure crystalline core thanks to the inclusion of incredible parcels of Chardonnay from Nyetimbers Hampshire vineyards. A long, complex finish.

This is meticulously made, with the best performing parcels of Chardonnay hand-picked and fermented separately for optimal blending. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation for a richer, fuller style.  It is also aged for a longer time on the lees to develop classic brioche and vanilla aromas that are so apparent.

  • Champagne Collet 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs NVChampagne & Sparkling Wine

Champagne Collet 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs NV

    £5500

An assemblage of six Chardonnay parcels from the best Premiers and Grands Crus of the Champagne region.  The three pillars of this Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru come from the three famous Grands Crus of Champagne – Avize, Oger and Chouilly. Avize is a rich Cru which brings power; Oger offers tenderness and Chouilly imparts elegance and finesse to the blend. These limestone soil Crus naturally present iodised notes and citrus aromas. The assemblage is balanced by blending Chardonnay from Villers-Marmery, a very mineral Cru with smoky notes making the wine round and light, while fruit from the Crus of Vaudemange and Trépail complete the assemblage.

Vivacious, with a light texture this 1er Cru delivers citrus notes of Sicilian lemon and lime, with hints of lemon tart on puff pastry. Nuances of white pepper, liquorice and smoke add to the kaleidoscope of flavours. This is fresh, taut, complex and full of finesse with a beautifully long finish.

The Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru was aged for a minimum of five years in Collet’s centuries-old limestone cellars.

  • 2019 Meursault Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Florent GaraudetWhite Wine

2019 Meursault Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Florent Garaudet

    £5700

2019 has been cited as an outstanding vintage and one of the best in recent years. The dry, warm conditions produced low yields of impeccably balanced, concentrated wines with searing freshness and remarkable purity.

In the glass this wine opens with elegant aromas of brioche, fresh butter and delicate citrus notes which lead to a rich, opulent palate of ripe citrus fruits through to a long, rich and satisfying finish.

The 60-year old vines are grown in a Hospice de Beaune parcel, just under the Meursault 1er Cru vineyard of ‘Les Santenots’ and are planted at a density of 10,000 to 11,000 per hectare. The clay-limestone soils are formed on alluvial stones and produce rich, textured wines. The vines are sustainably cultivated to respect the equilibrium of the environment, with the objective of limiting treatments to what is strictly necessary to obtain a harvest in the best possible condition.

  • 2017 ‘The Trouble with Dreams’ Brut, Sugrue SouthDownsChampagne & Sparkling Wine, English & Welsh Sparkling Wine, Sparkling

2017 ‘The Trouble with Dreams’ Brut, Sugrue SouthDowns

    £5900

The Trouble with Dreams is a classic blend of barrel-fermented Chardonnay and Pinot Noir boasting great purity and elegance, with lemon and apple aromas leading to a palate of delicate stone fruit and refreshingly crisp acidity. This is long, complex and absolutely delicious.

A portion of the fruit for this vintage was sourced from the Storrington Priory Vineyard. The majority of grapes came from the exceptional Mount Harry Vineyard near Lewes, in East Sussex. Both of the vineyards are located in Sussex, sitting above the 50th parallel and are influenced by a cool coastal climate. The vineyards have east and southeasterly aspects respectively, encouraging the maximum exposure to the sun, assisting ripening in this capricious climate. The soils are dominated by South Downs chalk which provides superior drainage for the vines, as well as imparting great elegance and finesse to the wines.

    MV ‘#Zodo’, Sugrue

    £5995

Made without additional dosage ‘#Zodo’ is a sublime expression of English sparkling wine. Aromas of Granny Smith apple and crushed stone lead to a beautifully balanced palate with vibrant acidity, fine weight and a twist of lemon on the finish.

This wine has been produced from Multiple Vintages, (MV). The fruit comes predominantly from the 2014 vintage, but also contains reserve wines from the 2009 and 2011 vintages.

80% of the grapes came from the exceptional Mount Harry Vineyard near Lewes, in East Sussex, which sits at 70 metres above sea-level. 20% of the fruit is sourced from the Storrington Priory Vineyard, located at 50 metres above sea-level. Both of the vineyards are located in Sussex, above the 50th parallel and are influenced by a cool coastal climate. Planted in 2006, the vineyards have east and south-easterly aspects encouraging the maximum exposure to the sun, assisting ripening in this capricious climate. • 2019 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Charmois, Domaine Marc MoreyWhite Wine

2019 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Charmois, Domaine Marc Morey

    £5995

Domaine Marc Morey is one of our favourite producers and we think winemaker Sabine Mollard, Marc Morey’s granddaughter, is something rather special.

The 2019 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Charmois opens in the glass with complex aromas of lemon peel combined with orange, vanilla and just a hint of smokiness, leading to a full bodied texture and the citrus characters which are echoed on the palate. Abundant minerality and a fresh acidity keep the palate lively, followed by a clean finish with elegant, buttery elements.

The grapes are grown in the Premier Cru named vineyard of Le Charmois, of the Saint- Aubin appellation. Domaine Marc Morey’s philosophy puts great emphasis on working alongside nature, with rigorous debudding and green harvests to ensure that the vine’s growth is perfectly balanced. The vineyards are farmed according to “La lutte raisonnée”, using sustainable agriculture methods, reducing the use of chemicals in order to respect the land and its environment.

  • 2016 ‘Ex Machina 2016’ Sparkling Rosé, Sugrue South DownsChampagne & Sparkling Wine, English & Welsh Sparkling Wine, Sparkling

2016 ‘Ex Machina 2016’ Sparkling Rosé, Sugrue South Downs

    £5995

Sugrue South Downs is the personal project of celebrated English sparkling winemaker Dermot Sugrue.  His highly acclaimed and multi-award-winning sparkling wine ‘The Trouble with Dreams’ is stuff of legend and we think the best sparkling wine in the UK.

This his Sugrues very first rosé, a wine named “Rosé ex Machina” because of its serendipitous conception: 2016 was so fine in quality yet so meagre in quantity that Dermot had decided to make just one wine, putting all of his fruit into the prestige “Cuvée Dr Brendan O’Regan”. Then, just as the harvest was coming to an end and in Dermot’s own words, “the God’s intervened” and he was offered some outstanding fruit from the beautiful Jenkyn Place Vineyard in Hampshire.   From these grapes “Rosé ex Machina” was born.

Just 4,500 bottles and 200 magnums were produced.

  • 2021 Wallis Chardonnay, Ten Minutes By TractorWhite Wine

2021 Wallis Chardonnay, Ten Minutes By Tractor

    £6400

Ten Minutes by Tractor needs little introduction, nor does the man in charge – Martin Spedding. A gently-spoken man with a background in finance and IT, in 2002, he finally acknowledged the fact that his true passion lay in wine. Despite his origins in New South Wales, he simply couldn’t get enough of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and would travel down to Victoria to immerse himself in Australia’s heartland of these noble varieties. In 2003 he visited one of his favourite small wineries on Mornington Peninsula and was delighted to discover that it was for sale. Without a moment’s hesitation, he snapped it up, and so began Martin’s journey with Ten Minutes by Tractor.

Complexity is always the name of the game with this single vineyard ‘Wallis’ Chardonnay -this 2021 iteration is another complete wine. White nectarine, fig and green papaya jump from the glass inviting you to explore this elegant Chardonnay. The grapefruit acidity that is the Wallis hallmark drives the palate, complimenting chestnut, soft citrus and spicy notes that sing together and complete this wine.  Drink now to 2035

The nose has classic lemon zest aromas alongside vintage-specific notes of peach, lychee and pineapple. The generous fruit on the nose and palate is balanced by a complex hazelnut and toasted brioche character. The palate offers a ripe, rounded body to compliment the bright acidity and elegant mousse.
