  • <a href="https://wine-republic.co.uk/product/2022-chardonnay-cousino-macul/">2022 Chardonnay, Cousino Macul</a>

    2022 Chardonnay, Cousino Macul

    £1395

As one of the pioneers of Chilean Chardonnay, Cousiño Macul has been cultivating this noble variety since the late 19th century, when vine cuttings were brought directly from Burgundy, France, and rooted in the sunlit soils of the Maipo Valley. Today, this heritage lives on in a wine that reflects both tradition and a vibrant, modern expression of place.

In the glass, the 2022 Chardonnay gleams with a golden hue edged by subtle green highlights. The nose is lively and aromatic, offering a fragrant bouquet of tropical pineapple and passion fruit, lifted by fresh notes of green apple and delicate elderflower. On the palate, the wine is crisp and fruit-forward, with a refreshing acidity that makes it both engaging and effortlessly drinkable.

Perfect as an elegant aperitif, this Chardonnay also pairs beautifully with dishes such as salmon ceviche, Caesar salad, or pasta with a vibrant pesto sauce.

2023 Chenin Blanc Skin Contact “Off The Charts”, Bruce Jack Wines

    £1475

Mouthwatering notes of lush tropical fruits gracefully intermingle with floral hints and vibrant citrus undertones through to a crisp, refreshing finish.

The Chenin Blanc vineyards lie at the heart of Swartland at elevations ranging from 60 to 300 metres above sea level. Nestled in ancient sandstone and shale soils, the vineyards benefit from a unique combination of factors. The region experiences scorching, dry summers followed by cool, wet winters, creating an environment that maximises the development of flavours and aromas in the grapes. Chenin Blanc is a standout varietal here and thrives whether grown on trellises or as bush vines. The soils and dry land conditions are particularly suited for bush vine cultivation, resulting in small berries bursting with layered flavours, rich colour and soft tannin structures. 33% of the fruit for this wine comes from old, low-yielding bush vines which produce concentrated fruit. The vineyards are sustainably cultivated and the grapes are hand-harvested.

Delicious notes of nectarine and citrus layer with hints of vanilla, caramel and a delightful touch of toffee, intertwined with orange peel, almond and subtle hints of clove. Beautifully balanced, with flavours of lime and lemongrass leading to a bright and zesty finish.

Some of the oldest Clairette Blanche vineyards in South Africa are found in the Breedekloof and the grapes for this wine come from a 36-year-old Clairette Blanche vineyard. The region is enclosed by three mountain ranges between the cool Atlantic Ocean and the warm Klein Karoo. The climate provides an ideal balance for a long hang time and a slower ripening of the grapes. The warm, ample sunshine allows the full development of the grape’s sugars and aromatic flavour, while the cooling influence from the surrounding mountains help retain natural acidity in the grapes, ensuring a fresh and vibrant wine profile.

2021 Pinotage, “Off The Charts”, Bruce Jack Wines

    £1475

Enticing aromas of black cherry and plum entwine with dark chocolate and spice through to a harmonious palate bursting with black forest fruit and delicious hints of chocolatey, toasty oak.

The Breedekloof Valley is surrounded by steep mountain slopes and the meandering Breede River which flows through the wide fertile valley. Breedekloof lies to the west of Worcester, with the Slanghoek Mountains marking its western border and the Badsberg Mountain dividing the Breedekloof area in two. The mountains have a moderating effect on the climate, with mountain shadows providing respite for the vines from the hot sun, by shortening the days and bringing cooler nights. These diurnal temperature differences create a long, slow ripening period, which results in ripe flavours and natural balancing acidity.

  • <a href="https://wine-republic.co.uk/product/2018-pinot-gran-reserva-vina-echeverria/">2022 Pinot Noir Gran Reserva, Viña Echeverría</a>

2022 Pinot Noir Gran Reserva, Viña Echeverría

    £1495

The Gran Reserva range wines have undergone fermentation or ageing in oak barrels, resulting in more full-bodied wines with a greater scope of complex flavours. Focus is on French varietals, barrels and yeasts, which makes this range more stylistically European but with New World intensity and flavour.

This elegant Pinot Noir combines aromas of strawberries, black cherries and raspberries with hints of chocolate and mocha. The palate is round and soft, with refreshing acidity and balanced fruit.

The vineyard is located in the Casablanca Valley, a cool-climate coastal region close to the Pacific Ocean approximately 47 miles north of Santiago. The proximity to the sea results in a Mediterranean climate, with pronounced maritime influence. The cooling sea breezes from the cold Humboldt stream, tempers the heat of the warm, sunny days and creates cool foggy mornings, ideal for top quality Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

  • <a href="https://wine-republic.co.uk/product/2020-the-black-shiraz-winemakers-reserve-berton-vineyard/">2020 ‘The Black’ Shiraz ‘Winemakers Reserve’, Berton Vineyard</a>

2020 ‘The Black’ Shiraz ‘Winemakers Reserve’, Berton Vineyard

    £1495

The Winemakers Reserve Black Shiraz is a multi-award winning wine and an outstanding example of Australian Shiraz with deep colour and aromas of blackberry and plum over toasty coffee and spicy oak. The palate is full-flavoured and intense with rich plum, blueberry and mocha notes. The tannins are ripe and dense imparting great structure and length to the palate.

Predominantly sourced from the vineyards in Padthaway, South Australia, where the soils are sandy loam over clay, formed on old lagoon sediments. These sandy soils lead to poor nutrient and water retention which helps to concentrate the flavours in the fruit. The vines are grown on single wire trellises, ensuring an open canopy. Drip irrigation is used in the vineyards to manage the water supply and reduce evaporation, as water is applied directly above the roots. The fruit was harvested during the cooler nights to retain freshness.

  • <a href="https://wine-republic.co.uk/product/2020-est-ouest-cotes-du-rhone-domaine-andre-brunel/">2023 ‘Est-Ouest’ Côtes du Rhône, Domaine André Brunel</a>

2023 ‘Est-Ouest’ Côtes du Rhône, Domaine André Brunel

    £1495

This is a spicy, juicy Côtes du Rhône with exuberant ripe red fruit framed by a good structure, rounded tannins and a lovely balance. A delicious and approachable Rhône blend with an elegant finish.

The vines are grown in two plots located to the east and west of the Rhône (hence the name) and impart the complexity of the different Rhône terroirs. The complementary qualities from these two terroirs allow the 35-year-old Grenache vines to reveal all their potential: elegance and finesse come from the small yields of 35 hectolitres per hectare and clay-limestone subsoil of the Saint Geniès de Comolas terroir in the Gard, while the round pebbles and clay subsoil of the Travaillan in the Vaucluse impart structure and power to the blend.
