2020 Sauvignon Blanc, Mulderbosch
£1595Add to BasketMulderbosch Sauvignon Blanc was one of the vanguards of the South African industry in the early 1990s; it was memorably described by Jancis Robinson as ‘the Cloudy Bay of South Africa’. The playing field has evolved significantly since then, and in order to remain distinctive, Mulderbosch began ageing their Sauvignon Blanc in neutral 500-litre barrels from the 2016 vintage.
This 2020 vintage is unmistakably Sauvignon in character, with striking citrus aromas and a hint of herbal lemon-grass on the nose. Green fig flavours on the palate are lifted by natural acidity and balanced by a firm, chalky texture.
The grapes come from Mulderbosh’s estate vineyard and from the slopes of Simonsberg, the Polkadraai ward and vineyards close to False Bay on the lower slopes of the Helderberg. Some of the vineyards are within two and a half miles of False Bay, where the strong influence of the Atlantic Ocean has a cooling effect during the warmest months of the year, encouraging balancing acidity to the concentrated fruit produced in this warm region.

2022 ‘Orivatis’ Old Vine Savatiano, Akriotou
£1595Add to BasketMade from the native Savatiano grape, this offers a complex and aromatic bouquet of ripe peach, quince, creamy vanilla and an intriguing hint of Turkish delight. Dry with perfectly balanced freshness, intense notes of grapefruit, pepper, ginger and wild mint lead to a long and spicy finish.
The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard called ‘Plataies’, located in Plataea, a small village at the foot of the Kitheronas Mountain, in Central Greece. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 250 to 320 metres elevation and during the autumn and winter months, cool air masses blow down from the mountains, carrying dew which refreshes the vineyard with crucial humidity. Cold winters, hot summers and long, dry autumns combine with long periods of sunshine to enable the grapes to reach excellent maturity and complexity. The Savatiano variety is suited to the hot, dry climate as it has excellent drought-resistant properties. The grapes for this wine come from old vines of 40 to 60 years, which are pruned according to the traditional Gobelet style and produce low yields of concentrated fruit.

2023 Estate SSV, Lomond Wines
£1595Add to BasketA refreshing, elegant blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Viognier. It opens in the glass with aromas of gooseberry and tropical fruit, layered with citrus and hints of spice. Beautifully balanced with full-flavoured passion fruit and citrus notes lifted by a zesty, mouthwatering finish.
Excellent to drink now as the Sauvignon Blanc’s racy acidity is to the fore but after 2 years in bottle the Viognier and Semillon start to emerge with the Viognier noticeable for apricot notes and the Semillon adding richness and texture.
Lomond is situated on The Agulhas Plain near the southernmost tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas – the meeting place of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans – and within sight of the sea.

£1595Add to BasketThe 2024 Soave Classico Cuvée XX by Guerrieri Rizzardi is a refined white wine that pays tribute to the estate’s 20th-century legacy, as denoted by the “XX” in its name. This cuvée is crafted from select grapes grown in two esteemed cru vineyards—Costeggiola and Ferra—situated on the hills of Cavaion and Bardolino within the Soave Classico DOP area. These vineyards feature soils rich in limestone and volcanic subsoil, contributing to the wine’s distinctive character.

2023 Awatere Sauvignon Blanc, Spoke
£1595Add to BasketThe 2023 Awatere Sauvignon Blanc from Spoke Wines is a striking expression of coastal Marlborough, shaped by the cooler, wind-kissed climate of the Awatere Valley. Spoke is the visionary collaboration between Liam Steevenson MW and Marlborough winemaker Ben Glover, whose decades of experience in the region are channelled into site-focused, expressive wines that reflect both land and hand.
This wine is sourced from the family’s vineyard along the Opawa River, where 14 hectares of vines, including Sauvignon Blanc, grow in fertile loam on north-facing slopes at 120 metres elevation, just under two miles from the sea. The coastal influence and prevailing breezes create a distinct microclimate, cooler than the rest of Marlborough, lending the wines their signature saline edge, lifted aromatics, and refined texture.
In the glass, the 2023 Awatere Sauvignon Blanc is bright and enticing. Aromas of white peach, gooseberry, and citrus leap forward, with layers of mineral tension and a sherbet-like vibrancy adding depth and dimension. The palate is taut and elegant, favouring precision over exuberance, with a chalky, saline finish that reflects the vineyard’s maritime proximity. This is not your typical tropical style Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It is more restrained, more European in style.

2023 ‘1753’ Viognier, Château de Campuget
£1695Add to BasketAn elegant Viognier with hints of nectarine, ginger and honeysuckle. Precise, crisp and balanced on the palate, with a roundness of generously structured fruit and a long, elegant finish.
The vineyard that this Viognier comes from is situated 15 kilometres south of Nîmes, near the village of Manduel, in the heart of the ‘Appellation d’Origine Protégée’ of the Costières de Nîmes. The average age of the vines is about 25 years. The main characteristic of the vineyard is the soil, which is formed of ‘gress’, an accumulation of rounded pebbles that have been deposited by the overflowing Rhône River thousands of years ago. These pebbles allow the vines to grow in the best possible conditions and due to this natural soil filter; the vine’s roots can easily draw the necessary water for their growth. The vines also benefit from the Mediterranean sunshine, which brings the grapes to perfect maturity and allows them to be picked at maximum phenolic maturity which assured elegance in the resulting wine.

2021 The Money Spider Organic Roussanne, d’Arenberg
£1695Add to BasketThere’s a real ‘standing in a field during spring’ vibe to this wine. Lots of golden sunshine, cut-straw, and yellow peach flavours. It’s round, and generous, with substantial palate weight and mouthfeel. It’s rich, toasty, and opulent.
The name of the wine originates from the fact that the first crop of Roussanne from the 2000 vintage was covered in tiny ‘Money Spiders’. Popular belief is that kindness to these creatures will bring good luck, so Chester refrained from sending the spiders to their death. By the next year, the Money Spiders had relocated, making the first release of this wine in 2001.

£1695Add to BasketWith a brioche opening, complex aromas of floral blossom, spice and flinty notes surround a core of pear and citrus. Intense and precise, the textured palate is lively, balanced and underpinned by elegant mineral notes. Drink now to 2025.
The Domaine de Vendange estate extends over 10 hectares, planted on south-facing slopes where the local Savoie grape varieties fully express their typicity. The 25- year old Jacquère vines yield 65 hectolitres per hectare. The soils are formed of glacial moraine; they are very young limestone soils made up of limestone scree, with layers of silty clay, which produce elegant, fresh wines. The vines are planted at 400 metres’ elevation, yet despite the altitude and mountainous location, the summers are surprisingly hot. This distinctive microclimate encourages the grapes to reach optimum maturity with concentrated juice, balanced by mountain-cool freshness. The vines are cultivated using integrated agriculture practices, maintaining the greatest respect for terroir and tradition. The focus is on green harvesting with pruning, debudding, trellising and leaf stripping. All grapes are hand-harvested. In 2021, the domain moved into conversion to organic status.
