This natural wine is an exceptionally pure expression of Syrah. Grapes are handpicked from 25-year-old Syrah vines and fermented at low temperatures, using indigenous yeasts only. No chemical additives were added so as well as being organic, biodynamic the wine is natural. It was bottled rapidly in the year of harvest with no added sulfites and no oak ageing. What strikes you about this wine is its purity, silky mouthfeel and its intense long finish. The flavours and aromas are all classic Syrah – plums, black fruit, leather.

It opens in the glass with intense aromas of tropical fruit with notes of vanilla and roasted flavours. Full-bodied on the palate, soft and silky texture, well-integrated acidity. Intense notes of pineapple and vanilla with a very long finish. This Chardonnay has a great character and an impressive length.
After whole bunch pressing the wine ages on its lees for five months in French oak which adds subtle vanilla and toasty notes to the intense tropical pineapple flavours and aromas.

2017 Manzan, Casa Lo Alto
£1995Add to BasketCasa Lo Alto Manzán is made from Bobal, a grape that is increasingly attracting the attention of wine consumers. Most people have never heard of Bobal, and yet it is the second most planted red grape variety in Spain, second only to Tempranillo! Traditionally used in bulk wine production it is no finding it feet as a standalone wine and as the muse of exceptional winemakers such as Casa Lo Alto’s Valencian winemaker Víctor Marqués. Using organic, biodynamic and sustainable principles he has crafted this stunning Bobal from three vineyards planted between 1940 and 1965.
Casa Lo Alto Manzán 2017 is a fluid red wine with light herbaceous aromas and Incisive red fruit. On the palate, it is fresh and fruity, with medium acidity and mouthwatering dry tannins. This really is such a pure and joyful wine and deserves your attention!
Interesting facts: The vines are planted bush-style in order to save water and protect them from over-exposure to the sun. In the soil, which is calcareous clayey and poor in organic matter, the use of chemical products is avoided and biodynamic preparations are used. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed but not pressed. Once they arrive, they undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. After pressing the juice is then decanted into barrels to rest on its lees for approximately 10 months.

Nineteen years later, led by eldest son Ben, the family launched Zephyr, a range of single vineyard wines from the farm. The name Zephyr means ‘a gentle breeze’. Inspired by the prevailing wind that moderates their vineyards.
A pale green colour, it is showing lime peel, blossom and snow peas on the nose. Lemongrass, melon, fennel seed and lime on the palate. This shows classic Dillon’s Point characteristics.
Delicious with scallops, summer salads, Thai food, prosciutto and soft goats cheeses. -

The Tollini Vineyard is located in Mendocino County’s Redwood Valley and has been in the Tollini family for three generations; now in the hands of Alvin Tollini. The Zero Manipulation Blend is made up of predominantly Carignan, where the vines are traditionally head trained and dry farmed. The blocks were originally planted by Alvin Tollini’s father and grandfather and old-vine, low yielding Carignan remains from the original plantings and produces concentrated, flavoursome fruit. Alvin’s father added to the acreage after he returned from WWII. The Syrah and Grenache were planted by Alvin using the same time-honoured techniques and sustainable approach and they add layers of depth, complexity and balance to the blend. The vines are planted on southwest facing benches in the Redwood Valley and are cultivated with a meticulously sustainable approach.

£2750Add to BasketRenan Cancino is one of Chile’s most sought-after viticulturists, and while he has made his name for tending vines, his wine production under the Huaso de Sauza brand is also turning heads. Cancino is a natural winemaker whose philosophy is making wines how they were always made historically in Chile – naked. Everything is done the traditional way here: vines are worked by hand, the vineyards are worked by draft horse, and there has never been any use of irrigation or chemicals.
Cariñena is made from Carignan grafted onto free-standing País rootstock on granitic soils in the town of Sauzal. Cariñena is a rustic wine with expressive aromas of violet, rose petal, oak, smoke and mushroom. The palate is brimming with flavours of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, liquorice and anise. The finish is mouthwatering, like a mountain breeze!
