  Made from 100% Trousseau this elegant wine offers aromatic complexity with wild red-berried fruits and mineral notes complemented by spicy, floral hues. Refreshing and silky, this is light but with good structure and a long finish.

  The Trousseau grapes come from the traditional vine-growing sites of Allen and Ing Heuergo in the province of Rio Negro, Patagonia, approximately halfway between the Andes Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Situated on the 39° latitude south, the sunlight exposure is more intense than in northern areas, but at this latitude, the nights are much colder. This daily diurnal temperature range is excellent for the production of quality grapes; the nightly cooling-off extends the ripening period, allowing the grapes to develop rich varietal characteristics while retaining balancing acidity. The low yielding vines were planted at the beginning of the 1970s and they are ungrafted allowing for complete interaction between the silty soils and the vine. The vines are cultivated naturally following organic principles resulting in wines that are expressive of the terroir and their varietal characteristics. The grapes are hand-harvested once they have reached optimal maturity. The long-forgotten variety of Trousseau is a dark-skinned variety that originated in Jura, France and is a synonym for Bastardo.

  The wine has bright, crunchy red and forest berry fruits, with light spice on both nose and palate. The palate is well balanced with chalky tannins and modest depth. A supple minerality and attractive red fruit core leads to a vibrant finish.

  The fruit for this wine comes from 3.28 hectares of vineyards, including one Volnay plot by the name of ‘Les Longbois’ and various other sites within Puligny-Montrachet. The Domaine has practised organic viticulture since 1995 and was certified organic in 2012. Since 2005, it has also converted to biodynamic viticulture.

  This wine has all the seriousness, subtleness, elegance and nuances that old Semillon is capable of. Complex and elegant aromas of citrus, white flowers and vanilla lead to a perfectly balanced palate, with an elegant finish.

  This Semillon was sourced from forgotten vines that are over 50 years old. These old vineyards are located in Río Negro in Patagonia, at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level on the 39° latitude south. The grapes come from the Roman Road vineyard, named after the route the Romans first marched when invading England in AD 43.  They are grown on south-facing slopes, ensuring heat accumulation in the day and cold air drainage at night. The vineyard is less than eight miles from the coast, providing a crucial maritime influence insulating the fruit against intense temperature variations.

  Château de Valois is a traditional right-bank Bordeaux from a small property with a growing reputation.  Beautifully traditional they blend Merlot and Cabernet Franc grown in iron-rich soils just a stone’s throw from Chateau Figeac and Chateau Cheval Blanc.

  The 2016 nose is bursting with blackberries, exotic spice and hints of smoky oak and cedar. On the palate, the texture is rich and generous, with soft tannins. The finish has a good freshness and is full of lingering ripe fruit.

  A breath-taking Pinot Noir with extraordinary texture, elegance and poise. Classic aromas of red and dark cherries mingle with hints of spice.   The vineyard is set in the classic cool climate subregion of Red Hill at an altitude of 146 metres above sea level. The Pinot Noir vines are aged between 15 and 22 years; six clones are planted each with subtle characteristics which impart complexity to the resulting wine. The soil is a deep red volcanic clay that allows dry farming, without irrigation. Founder, Lindsay McCall, still tends to the vineyard characterised by its distinctive Lyre or ‘U’ trellis system which sits on an elaborate steel frame assembly.

  Piemonte produces some of the finest, most Burgundian, examples of Chardonnay in Italy. This is one of the best – a complex barrel-aged style, and one of Italy’s finest examples of the grape. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from two parcels of vines. One is in Barbaresco, just below Martinenga, facing south-west at an altitude of 230m. The second is on the north-east side of Monte Aribaldo in the commune of Treiso, 370 metres above sea level.

  This 2000 Grésy Chardonnay is a beautiful barrel-aged wine that is bursting with intense aromas of nougat, caramel and butter and hints of almond flakes.  In the mouth it has a textured honeyed feel with complex layers of exotic fruits with honeyed apricots buffered by the persistent minerality that gave the wine its very long finish.

  Domaine de la Solitude’s wines are renowned for their characteristic elegance whilst expressing the true origins of their terroir.    This 2021 is a rich and opulent wine with ripe blackcurrant aromas layered with notes of the garrigue and cistus (a hardy shrub) flowers. Full-bodied but with a soft texture on the palate; this wine retains the estate’s characteristic elegance whilst embracing a modern style of winemaking.   Domaine de la Solitude has one of the best terroirs in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with its abundance of rounded quartzite stones from the Villafranchian period. These stones absorb heat during the day then radiate it at night, promoting full grape maturity. Yielding just 30 hectolitres per hectare, the vines are carefully managed throughout the year. The grapes are hand-harvested, once each variety has reached full maturity, which is based on tastings undertaken by an expert panel. The vineyard is farmed sustainably; the domain promotes and develops biodiversity in the vineyard by maintaining a flourishing wine-growing ecosystem.
