  • ‘Dubl’ Falanghina Brut Spumante, Feudi di San GregorioChampagne & Sparkling Wine

‘Dubl’ Falanghina Brut Spumante, Feudi di San Gregorio

    £2400

This magnificent 100% Falanghina sparkling wine is a collaboration between Pierpaolo Sirch of Feudi di San Gregorio and top Champagne producer Anselme Selosse, who collaborated in 2004 to form a “double act” combining the excellence of Anselme’s Champagne winemaking skill with Pierpaolo’s deep understanding of the uniqueness of the Irpinia terroir. The culmination of this was the launch of the “Dubl” range.

A fresh and aromatic wine with notes of crisp golden delicious apple, peach and floral hints of camomile, complemented by rounder notes of apricot. Captivating, fragrant and dynamic on the palate with a lively, persistent mousse and a long, pleasing finish.  The wine spent 18 months ageing on its fine lees adding texture and complexity.

The beautiful Feudi di San Gregorio vineyards are spread out over lush and gentle hills in Sorbo Serpico, approximately an hour from Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The region lies in the heart of the Southern Apennines, which is characterised by a continuous succession of mountains, hills and plains interspersed with rivers. The estate covers 250 hectares of vineyard divided into approximately 800 lots which are almost entirely devoted to native Campania vines. The vineyards are situated between 350 and 700 metres above sea level and the soils are volcanic, with a good percentage of clay. The climate is not the type of climate typically associated with southern Italy as the winters can be harsh and often snowy and the summers are breezy rather than scorching hot. The intense diurnal temperature variation, the winds that sweep through the vineyards and the exposure to the warming sun results in a unique combination set to express the full potential of the grapes.

  • 2019 Rosso di Montalcino, PininoRed Wine

    2019 Rosso di Montalcino, Pinino

    £2400

An elegant and harmonious expression of Sangiovese, with plenty of ripe raspberry and cherry fruit framing the full and velvety texture, through to a long, spicy finish.

The Pinino estate vineyards are located in the north of Montalcino with the Canchi vineyard in the north-east, facing south and south-west respectively. The vineyards are embedded like a natural amphitheatre into the beautiful and famous hillside of Montosoli. This distinctive geographical location has become known as one of the best areas of the region for wine production. The Sangiovese grapes are grown at an altitude of 310 to 320 metre, where the lower temperatures allow the grapes to express their finesse. The soil is rich in galestro (a rocky, clay-schistous soil with a flaky texture and free draining properties), clay and tuff.

  • 2019 Syrah ‘TH’, UndurragaRed Wine

    2019 Syrah ‘TH’, Undurraga

    £2450

Cool climate Syrah with spicy, peppery aromas and notes of fresh wild herbs and subtle tar surround a core of fresh raspberries and wild berries. Mineral on the palate, with a tense tannin structure and a vibrant acidity that gives freshness and identity to the wine.

Located to the west of the coastal mountain range, the Leyda Valley has gently rolling hills, exposing the vines to varying levels of sunlight and drainage profiles. The soils are developed from granite rock on the coastal batholith formed 200 million years ago in the Jurassic period. For this wine, the grapes were selected from a small plot of Syrah grown in finely textured soils. The top layer is shallow loamy clay with poor fertility, followed by a sedimentary ‘crack’ clay profile. The subsoil is decomposed granite rock with a diverse mineral structure. The plot is densely planted with 10,000 vines per hectare of French Clones 174 and 470 on a north-facing slope exposed to the sun. The yield was two kilograms per plant, which favours the concentration necessary to achieve a wine with great richness.

  • 2020 Carmenère ‘TH’, UndurragaRed Wine

    2020 Carmenère ‘TH’, Undurraga

    £2450

Head winemaker Rafael Urrejola has spent a great deal of time understanding the diversity of Chile’s vineyard sites; the result is the emblematic ‘Terroir Hunter’ range.

This is smooth as silk Carmenère with an intense expression of fresh raspberries and cherries, complemented by subtle hints of green pepper. On the palate, notes of dark chocolate and sweet berried fruit are enveloped in smooth, elegant tannins and a vibrant acidity that lends a fresh, juicy finish.

The grapes come from a specifically chosen vineyard in Peumo, on the western side of the Valle de Cachapoal, in an area known for producing the best Carménère wines in Chile. The climate in Peumo suits Carménère; its latitude ensures high temperatures throughout the ripening period, but its proximity to the Pacific Ocean results in gentle breezes that encourage the grapes to retain acidity, resulting in fresh flavours and aromas in the wine. The vineyard is situated at 171 metres above sea level, where the red clay soils are one metre deep and retain moisture to nourish the vines.

  • 2020 ‘TH’ Cabernet Sauvignon Cauquenes, UndurragaRed Wine

2020 ‘TH’ Cabernet Sauvignon Cauquenes, Undurraga

    £2450

Head winemaker Rafael Urrejola has spent a great deal of time understanding the diversity of Chile’s vineyard sites; the result is the emblematic ‘Terroir Hunter’ range.

Defined by its structure and complexity, this is an expressive and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon revealing aromas of red fruit, spice and earthy notes. Opulent, with beautifully integrated tannins and a long, full-flavoured finish.

The Cauquenes area is part of DO Valle de Maule. The region has a warm temperate climate, with generally warm, dry summers with daytime temperatures ranging from 28 to 30°C and cool nights of 8 to 11°C. The estate vineyard was planted in 2009 and is located on the bank of the Tutuvén River, which has a cooling effect on the vines during the warm afternoons. The vineyard has deep soils with variable texture. The topsoil consists of clay with high silica content, with partially weathered granite and even quartz in the subsoil; these properties allow for good water retention, releasing it slowly as the vines need it.

  • 2021 Cabernet Franc ‘TH’, UndurragaRed Wine

    2021 Cabernet Franc ‘TH’, Undurraga

    £2450

Head winemaker Rafael Urrejola has spent a great deal of time understanding the diversity of Chile’s vineyard sites; the result is the emblematic ‘Terroir Hunter’ range.

In the glass this Cabernet Franc has an intense ruby red colour and great clarity, it expresses fresh aromas of black fruits such as blackberries, blueberries and blackcurrant mixed with floral tones such as violets. On the palate it is fresh, intense and elegant, firm tannins, with a fruity and unctuous medium palate. The finish is long and persistent.

The Cabernet Franc grapes were sourced from a selected vineyard planted exclusively for this range in Catemito, in the Valle de Maipo. The daily temperatures during the summer are lower in this area than in the rest of the Valle de Maipo, decreasing substantially in March and April, providing the ideal conditions for the tannins to ripen completely and to ensure that the fresh aromas and flavours are preserved. Catemito is located on an alluvial terrace which was formed in the Holocene period, approximately 10,000 years ago.

  • 2020 Grand Malbec, Piattelli VineyardsRed Wine

    2020 Grand Malbec, Piattelli Vineyards

    £2450

A rich and inky Malbec full of aromas of blueberries, cedar and spice. Opulent and textured, with wonderful fruit concentration and beautifully integrated oak, through to a long, persistent finish.

From high in the Andes surrounding Salta come Piattelli’s Cafayate wines, grown at an elevation of over 1,795 metres. The distinctively colourful Argentinian mountains are formed of many geological layers. The splendour of this area is the pure water and extreme thermal amplitudes. The diurnal temperature differences create longer ripening periods, which concentrate the flavours in the grapes, with the cooler evenings encouraging a balancing freshness. Additionally, the grapes develop thicker skins to cope with the intensity of the UV rays at this altitude, which further concentrates the flavours in the wine. This makes this not only one of the most beautiful but also one of the premier grape-growing regions in the world.

  • 2021 ‘Les Glacières’ Côtes du Roussillon, Domaine GardiésWhite Wine

2021 ‘Les Glacières’ Côtes du Roussillon, Domaine Gardiés

    £2450

A fresh, fragrant blend, with fragrant lemony fruit and herbal notes from the garrigue. Beautifully balanced with rounded fruit underpinned by lovely mineral freshness.

The Domaine Gardiés vineyards nestle in the foothills of Corbières, where the clay- limestone of the scrubland gives this a part of the Domaine’s soil its characteristic finesse. The climate is Mediterranean, the hot, arid summers encouraging the vines to struggle and send their roots deep into the soil in search of nutrients, resulting in complex wines. The low-yielding vines produce 30 hl/ha. The region is characterised by the eight different types of wind blow across the wine growing area and, one day out of three, the mighty Tramontane, a dominating northerly wind, sweeps through the region. These drying winds help keep vineyards in a healthy condition, reducing the need for pest control or other human intervention. Domaine Gardiés is certified organic, the vines are hand-harvested and biodiversity in the vineyard is encouraged.

  • 2021 ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree’ Malbec, Matias RiccitelliRed Wine

2021 ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree’ Malbec, Matias Riccitelli

    £2475

Deep purple in colour, with beautiful aromas of wild dark fruits, vanilla and chocolate on the nose. This is a complex and rich Malbec with smooth ripe tannins and a long finish.

The grapes are hand-picked from Matias Riccitelli’s vineyards. Half the grapes come from the Perdriel vineyard at 950 metres above sea level in the subregion of Lujan de Cuyo. Located at the banks of the Mendoza River, the rocky soil delivers a rich wine, with ripe fruit and smooth tannins. The other half comes from Gualtallary, which is situated at 1,400 metres altitude in the northern part of the Uco Valley. The vines here deliver fresh, spicy Malbec from calcareous soils. A green harvest is performed in December to concentrate the flavours in the berries. Both vineyards are influenced by diurnal temperature changes which encourages a long hang time, promoting concentrated flavours in the berries while retaining balancing acidity.

  • 2020 ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree’ Bonarda, Matias RiccitelliRed Wine

2020 ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree’ Bonarda, Matias Riccitelli

    £2475

This deep purple-hued wine has a beautiful aroma of red dark fruit combined with a touch of mint, layered with chocolate notes. Complex and smooth on the palate with ripe tannins and a long finish.

The Vistalba vineyards are located in Lujan de Cuyo and are situated at an altitude of 1,050 metres above sea level. The continental climate is characterised by cold winters and mild summers, with warm days and cool nights. The heat assists the promotion of sugar levels in the ripening grapes, while the coolness of the night retains the acidity level, achieving healthy and balanced berries. The average rainfall is 200mm and the traditional technique of flooding is used for irrigating the vines. The average age of the vines is 60 years; planted as “ espaldero” (vertical shoot position) resulting in a naturally low yield which results in a fresh wine of great concentration. The Vistalba soils are clay, loamy soils above the rocky subsoil. This soil has good drainage, promoting the healing and growth of roots.
