The grapes were carefully sorted upon arrival at the winery and the three varieties were fermented separately in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures of between 14 and 16°C. This is a young, fresh expression of Tempranillo aged for 6 months in 100% French oak. In the glass it has an alluring deep red colour with a very expressive nose of berries fruit, caramel and vanilla notes. The palate is rich and structured with supple tannins. Flavours of red fruits, vanilla along with hints of balsamic abound. A fantastic Bbq wine made for drinking in the next few years.

‘Raices’ translates as Estate and the grapes for this wine come from vineyards located in the Uco Valley, Mendoza at an altitude of 700 metres above sea-level. The soils are poor in organic matter, which encourages the vines to send their roots deep into the soil in search of nutrients and water, resulting in subtle complexity. The climate is warm, with very little humidity, a combination which provides naturally ideal conditions for premium viticulture.

This wine is deep red in colour. On the nose, there are intense aromas of ripe dark fruit, especially blackberries and cherries, with spicy notes of cocoa, lavender and liquorice. On the palate, it is youthful and full-bodied, with a great concentration of ripe, rounded fruit. It is a very elegant, fresh and complex Primitivo.
The grapes for this wine come from vineyards in the heart of the Primitivo growing region, located in the low hills east of Taranto in Puglia. The region is an old sea bed, full of fossils of clams, oysters and urchins. The altitude is approximately 20 metres above sea level and annual rainfall is 35 centimetres. The climate is classically Mediterranean as Puglia is a peninsula between the Adriatic and the Ionian seas. The Primitivo vines are quite old; most are the original plantings after phylloxera and range from 70 to 100 years old. As with most vineyards planted at that time they are small bush vines called ‘alberello’ which are non-irrigated and low yielding. The average Primitivo vineyard is quite small, less than half a hectare and the best sites have a crumbly, dark reddish-brown soil that resembles instant coffee.

Kydonitsa ( pronounced Ki-do-NI-tsa) is a rare, old local variety and one of the components of the legendary wine Malvasia. The vineyard is located on the peninsula of Maleus at the foothills of the Parnonas Mountain range at an altitude of 80 metres above sea level. Surrounded by the Myrtoo Sea to the North West and by the Laconian Gulf to the South West, the vineyard is influenced by a Mediterranean climate with high sunshine hours and coastal sea breezes. The soils are clay loam and rich in minerals. All these factors contribute in creating a unique terroir and the climatic conditions present an ideal environment for healthy vines, which are cultivated with minimal intervention.

Ribolla Gialla is an ancient white variety from northern Italy that can be traced back to the 13th century and to the province of the Colli Orientali del Friuli.
In the glass, this Ribolla Gialla is vibrant and characteristically fresh, offering marked minerality with complementing citrussy notes through to a stylish finish.
The Castello di Buttrio vineyard is situated on the hillside slopes at 142 metres above sea level, which ensures excellent air circulation to keep the vines healthy. The Ribolla Gialla vines range from 10 to 60 years in age and are planted in soils that are made up of layers of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin, known locally as ‘ponca’ in Friulian, which contains marine fossils originating from the Adriatic Sea. This soil produces textured and concentrated wines which are balanced by cutting acidity, thanks to the soil’s high pH and cool temperature.
The 2020 shows a delicate and elegant bouquet of white floral aromas, white fruits and a subtle hint of honey. This is a dry, racy wine with linear freshness and beautiful texture with white stone fruits leading to a long, harmonious finish.
