2019 ‘3 Cru’ Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, Guerrieri Rizzardi

    £3900

Crafted from hand-selected grapes grown on the Rizzardi family’s estate vineyards in the prestigious commune of Negrar di Valpolicella, the 2019 3 Cru Amarone is a refined expression of tradition and terroir. Sourced from three of the estate’s finest crus and matured in oak following the same regimen as the Riserva wines, 3 Cru is then bottled earlier to retain vibrancy and freshness, setting it apart with a more modern, food-friendly appeal.

In the glass, it opens with an intense bouquet of ripe dark berries, dried cherries, and notes of toasted spice, cocoa, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is generous yet poised, offering a silky texture, rich fruit concentration, and a long, elegant finish. Its freshness and balance make it remarkably versatile at the table, a standout Amarone that complements food as much as it captivates on its own.

Ageing Potential: Enjoy from 2023 to 2033 and beyond

Food Pairing: Ideal with hearty stews, game dishes, casseroles, and grilled or barbecued meats.

    2019 Croft Chardonnay, Henschke

    £3995

Seductive aromas of pear skin, grapefruit, white stone-fruit, citrus blossom and white flowers are complemented by hints of apple, lemon curd, clove spice and toasted almonds. Intense and focussed, the palate shows layer upon layer of pear and white peach, tightly wound by a deliciously creamy texture, and perfectly balanced with nectarine acidity and subtle oak nuances, for a powerful yet elegantly restrained, lingering finish.

Fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke and his wife Prue purchased the Lenswood property in the Adelaide Hills in 1981. At 550 metres above sea level, the Lenswood vineyard offers not only magnificent views over the traditional vine country but also higher rainfall and humidity, cooler temperatures to retain high natural acidity, yet still enough sunshine to fully ripen the grapes. The chardonnay vineyard, which consists of seven clones, has taken its name from Frederick Croft, an orchardist who took up a neighbouring property in 1938.

    2019 Pinot Noir, Masut

    £3995

Masút Vineyard & Winery is a family-owned estate in Mendocino County’s Eagle Peak AVA, founded by third-generation winemakers Ben and Jake Fetzer. Rooted in their family’s deep California wine legacy, the brothers established Masút in 2009 to focus exclusively on estate-grown, small-lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Their organically farmed vineyard, located between 900 and 1,800 feet above sea level, is defined by volcanic soils, maritime breezes, and steep, rugged slopes, creating ideal conditions for crafting wines of purity, balance, and site expression.

The 2019 Masút Pinot Noir captures the estate’s essence: refined, vibrant, and seamlessly structured. Sourced from select estate vineyard blocks, this wine showcases the nuance and energy of high-elevation Pinot Noir, made with minimal intervention to preserve the natural character of the fruit and the terroir.

In the glass, it opens with aromas of ripe cherry, wild raspberry, and rose petal, layered with notes of forest floor, clove, and a hint of toasted oak. The palate is silky and poised, delivering a core of red berry fruit framed by fine-grained tannins and refreshing acidity. Earthy undertones and a touch of spice add depth, leading to a long, graceful finish.

The 2019 Pinot Noir is a true reflection of place, both rugged and elegant, with the finesse to pair beautifully with dishes like roast duck, grilled salmon, or mushroom risotto. Aged in French oak for gentle integration, it’s a wine of intention and integrity, built for both immediate enjoyment and graceful ageing.

2019 Estate Chardonnay, Ten Minutes By Tractor

    £4200

Ten Minutes by Tractor needs little introduction, nor does the man in charge – Martin Spedding. A gently-spoken man with a background in finance and IT, in 2002, he finally acknowledged the fact that his true passion lay in wine. Despite his origins in New South Wales, he simply couldn’t get enough of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and would travel down to Victoria to immerse himself in Australia’s heartland of these noble varieties. In 2003 he visited one of his favourite small wineries on Mornington Peninsula and was delighted to discover that it was for sale. Without a moment’s hesitation, he snapped it up, and so began Martin’s journey with Ten Minutes by Tractor.

Aged in a mixture of new and old French oak barrels for 11 months.  An exotic nose of curry leaf and spice with hints of honeydew and flint form the backbone of this multiple site Chardonnay. While the acid is tight, it creates a strong drive through the palate that is met by bursts of citrus peel with a fine finish.

  • <a href="https://wine-republic.co.uk/product/2019-lovedale-semillon-1946-vines-mount-pleasant/">2019 Lovedale Semillon ‘1946 Vines’, Mount Pleasant</a> White Wine

2019 Lovedale Semillon ‘1946 Vines’, Mount Pleasant

    £4500

Mount Pleasant, based in the Hunter Valley, was established in 1921 by the legendary winemaker Maurice O’Shea, from 16.3 hectares of adjoining parcels of land, which he named Mount Pleasant.

Expressive aromas of lemon, lime and concentrated lemongrass are layered with delicate floral overtones. The perfectly balanced palate has gorgeous acidity providing drive and cut, with intense citrus notes found throughout.

O’Shea selected the Lovedale vineyard site on the flats of the Pokolbin region of the Hunter Valley in 1939. Unfortunately, the outbreak of the Second World War saw O’Shea’s plans curtailed as the land was reclaimed by the Australian Government for use as an emergency landing field as a part of the war effort. O’Shea eventually planted his first Semillon vines on the site in the spring of 1946. Over the years, Lovedale has proven to be another brilliant choice by Maurice O’Shea, as the sandy aggregate loam soils help to capture the perfect tightness and acidity for making quality Semillon. The vineyard is cultivated using sustainable techniques, such as employing mulch to nourish the vines and growing cover crops to increase the biodiversity in the soil. This sustainable approach has resulted in some of the healthiest vines on the estate in recent years; the vines have developed plentiful canopies which have assisted in preventing sunburn of the fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal maturity.

2019 Bandol Rouge, Domaine de Terrebrune

    £4975

The 2019 Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rouge is a distinguished expression of Provence’s Bandol appellation, crafted by the Delille family, who have been stewards of this estate since 1963. Situated in Ollioules, just east of Bandol, the estate benefits from a unique terroir overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, where the combination of sea breezes and Triassic era soils imparts a distinctive character to the wines. Under the guidance of Reynald Delille, the estate has embraced organic farming practices, emphasising a philosophy of “Philosophy, Rigour, and Respect” in their winemaking approach.

In its youth, the 2019 Bandol Rouge exhibits a deep, opulent bouquet dominated by black fruits and liquorice, complemented by notes of spices and garrigue. On the palate, it presents a powerful yet harmonious profile, with chewy tannins providing structure to the ripe fruit flavours. The wine’s complexity and balance suggest significant ageing potential, with a recommended drinking window extending through 2034.

The 2019 Rouge comes from a 30-hectare vineyard on the terraced slopes of the Gros Cerveau mountain. The soils are composed of limestone pebbles in brown clay, a composition that inspired the estate’s name, “Terrebrune.” This Triassic-era soil structure, combined with the cooling influence of the nearby Mediterranean, allows for slow grape ripening, preserving acidity and enhancing the mineral complexity of the wines.

An intensely flavoured but elegant Amarone, with concentrated flavours of ripe blueberries, blackberries and cherries, enhanced by spicy oak. The palate is rich, full bodied and complex, with beautiful balance and a long, elegant finish.

Punta 470 takes its name from the altitude of Ca’Rugate’s six hectare estate vineyard in the hills around Montecchia di Crosara, where the grapes are grown at 470 metres above sea-level. This elevation allows the grapes to retain balancing acidity to the concentrated fruits and enables Ca’ Rugate to produce a wine which is elegant and food-friendly.
